Vacation is here....going no mail.

Well, I leave in the wee hours of the morning, for my trip back home.  I am going no mail, because I won't always have the ability to check my email.  I will check when I can.  Until then, I wish you all the very best of the Holiday Season and A Happy New Year!

Deven Dr appt today

Deven had a follow up appointment today, to check on the progress of his healing bone.  The uploaded photo in the album shows how much progress his body has made in just two weeks.  He still can't go to the park, or jump on his bed and stuff like that, so that he doesn't re-break it, but he doesn't have to wear the sling all the time.  The DR was happy to see his progress.  He said that young people heal so fast.  The photo shows it's true!

Update on Winter weather

Well, it actually did snow lastnight!  It wasn't heavy, maybe 1/2 inch on the ground, but it sure was pretty to wake up to!  Yeaaaaa!

Winter

Well, we had our first snow flurries today.  Nothing stuck on the ground, though.  The nights are getting down to the low 30's to high 20's, so if rain does come, then it will be snow.  I can't wait!

Update on Mr. Atlas...

Today was Deven's followup appointment to our emergency room visit last Friday.  The DR gave him a sling to use, instead of the shoulder/posture support.  He said to try and keep him calm... lol... again, like I can hold back the ocean!  Other than that, give him motrin for pain, wear the sling for at least the next week, as much as possible and definately when he is playing, and come back in a couple of weeks to take another x-ray, to check the healing process and make sure it is doing what it should.  Then, one more x-ray appointment after that several weeks later to check again.  That's it.

So you think you are Atlas....

Yes, that must have been what Deven was thinking when he decided to open up the treadmill by himself yesterday afternoon.

I was in the livingroom spinning and Deven was in his room playing, or so I thought, when he let out his blood curdling cry.  We were both pretty scared, and he seemed to be alright, with the exception of his shoulder really hurting him.  So, we decided to take him to the emergency room as a precaution.  For the first time ever (in the history of all my kids) we got seen right away in an emergency room.  A quick examination by the DR.  sent us down to X-ray, and revealed a hairling fracture of his collar bone.  The DR says he will heal just fine, as long as we can get him to take it easy, (which is like telling us to stop the tide from ebbing and flowing) and he has to wear a shoulder/posture supporting brace until he is seen on Tuesday by an Orthopedist.  The DR wasn't too worried about Deven's injury, but made us the appt. witht he specialist just to be sure (again, a miracle for the military medical system as the appt is for Tues.)  So, we will keep you posted as to what the DR says at his appointment.

As for Deven this morning:  No change here, except he is complaining about the shoulder supporter.  Toys are all over the place, and he is as if nothing even happened.   Ok, that's it from here.

Zipped photo albums under videos

Hello Everyone.  I hope I have not filled up your mailbox with too many notices today.  I have tried to click on "don't send email".  I have been uploading, under the Video section of the site, zipped up photo albums of Deven and the family.  I have managed to get birth to third birthday uploaded.  I suffered a setback today, when I somehow transposed 100 meg to 1000 meg, and my zip files were tooooo big to upload.  What a mess it was!  I kept trying to load over and over, and thought something was wrong with the internet!  LoL, it was just me....  So, anyway, the files are there if you don't have a copy or the disks that I have sent before got damaged or whatever.  If not, that's good too.  Happy Day All!

Google Earth

I was watching the news the other night, and they were reporting about how Google Earth might be a security risk.  So, I had to go and check it out.  I now have all of your houses pushpinned.  Maxine, your gravel yard looks fantastic from the air, but you were parked corooked in your driveway when the satalite took the photograph...lol.  Gwen, Google earth thinks you live in the middle of the intersection... so, which house IS yours?  It is kind of fun to zoom in and say... there's where my family lives!

Filling up your mailbox with notices!

Well, the site is up and running so much better than I ever expected.  I learned how to move over the folders from my Photobucket, and to snag the pics of my grandson Malachai, so we are starting to burst with pictures!  I am also be uploading the older pictures in Deven's folders under the video's section, in zip files.  I have just finished a test, with a folder of distant family and friends.  Now, all of the adding and changing might be sending notices to your email.  Sorry if it is overloading you.  I don't know how to turn off these notices, but that is kind of the neat thing about the site...it will tell you personally that I made changes!  Everything will be on the site for you to see, so you can just delete the notices without opening, if you want to.  I should get it all put together in a few days, and then the notices should slow down.  Until then, please bear with me, as I get this wonderful resource up and running.

This is my first post

Well, I am frustrated with the constant changes on Yahoo. First the photos, and now my 360 blog is acting up. No avatar, photos not updating, limited photo storage on Flickr, unless I pay a yearly fee (no) and groups not showing up no matter how many times I make adjustments to settings. So, I am jumping over here, to see if this works better. I am also tired of having three photo album holding companies, and having to upload my photos in threes, so again, let's see if this works better. So, to start my test, this rambling and let's see how the photo option works..... Here goes....

Monty's new sweater

As promised, here it the photo of Monty's newest sweater. I will most likely redo the ribbing, as I though, but not until after we get our move accomplished. Still, it didn't turn out too bad. I am working on getting the pattern right, using the knitting design program that I bought. It started as a free download, trial program, but the trial doesn't let you play with custom design sizes, so I bought the unlock code. I have not been disappointed with the program or the customer service that I have received. If you are in the market for a design program, I highly recommend them!!!

Life is upside down.

Well, life here has turned upside down. The end of year bill adjustments for water and electrical arrived at the end of February. They took all of the money that we had saved (knowing there would be a bit of a difference) and all of the money that I was going to need to take my trip to the states to see my girls and newest grandchildren. It was a completly depressing thing, but it spurred us to make an immediate decision..... move. So, with my husband jumping though amazing hoops in the system, he has signed for a house, arranged for the movers to come and arranged all the things that are needed for our move..... which happens in only 17 days! Wow! Is he good, or what? Anyway, the ease on the budget makes it so that I can most likely visit the girls and family sometime around the holidays. I am going to miss my small, quiet, friendly town and my son going to kindergarten, but I guess it worked out for the better. Maybe there will be openings for him in school in his new town, but we will have to wait and see. I do love the fact that here in Germany kids go to half day school, if you can get them into one of the local ones.

On the topic of crafts... I finished the newest sweater for my dog. The ribbing might be a bit tight around his tummy and back legs, but I can redo that if I need to. I will post a pic when I take one. I am, saddly, suffering from "second" mitten syndrome. I still haven't finished Hubby's other mitten and now spring is here. Well, maybe I will get it done by next year!...

Anemoi Mitten

So, this is the first really detailed color work that I have ever tried. The concept of two colors wasn't hard, it was getting my fingers to cooperate, that slowed the project down. I didn't get them done in time for Valentine's Day, so that I could give them to Hubby, but I did show him what they looked like. Now I just have to finish up the other one before winter is over!

Finally, success!

I have been trying and trying to knit Monty wool sweaters, but have been having terrible luck. With a free demo knitting program, I have successfully made him a sweater that fit correctly! Hooray! No more wasted wool here.

Feeling Better

So, Little Man is feeling a bit more like his usual self and insisted that I take his picture today. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is a big camera ham. I just loved how the shirt worked into the whole theme.
