Sad News

The last several days have been tough here.  Reggie found out that his dad was hospitalized on Friday (west coast time).  On Monday (here) he got everyting in motion at the Red Cross, to see if they could get him Emergency leave.  That came through on Monday night.  There was delay getting his paper work Tuesday morning, and he didn't get a flight out until 5pm here.  His dad was moved to ICU during that time, though I don't know when, and his dad died before his plane got there.   Please remember his family during this hard time.

World stupidness

So one of the reports on the news today, was about Lance Armstrong facing the retesting of his frozen urine, from 1999.  So, if they do retest and he does have something show up that shouldn't have been there, then what.... he has only won 6 instead the 7 Tour de France races?  Big deal!  There are starving people all over the world, terrorists blowing up everything and wars going on everywhere, and we are supposed to care about Lance Armstrongs pee??!!  Please, could we work on ending world hunger and try to bring home our troups, instead of something that may or may not have happened almost 10 years ago??

Military news is so very different than civilian news.  It let's us know of what our troops are out there doing, and how they are making a difference in peoples every day lives.  The news back in the States seems to miss all of this stuff somehow.  It is the kind of news that keeps our Airmen and women motovated to do a good job and helps us keep pride in being American military personal.

Deven just learned how to cross the monkey bars all by himself. Yesterday was the first time. The up-reach is still giving him trouble, but I bet he will be able to make it on his own in a few weeks.

Deven learned how to cross the monkey bars by himself, only yesterday. He has been trying for a year to do it. These circle one's are still a bit tough for him.

Karate videos uploaded.

Hello Everyone!  I just uploaded videos of Deven's new class: Karate for 3-5 year olds.  We are not allowed in the room, so that we are not a distraction, so these are filmed through the door window.  The videos have no sound, as I didn't think anyone would be interested in the chatter of the women behind me, so it has been edited out.  It is really fun to watch him interact with his friends and the teacher.  I hope to get better videos in the future, but this is a start.  He starts T-ball on Monday.  The class runs for one month.  Then there will be Soccer, kickball, basketball, golf and something else, but I forgot what it is.  Anyway, I will let you all know when more photos and videos of him doing these things are posted.  Until then, I hope you enjoy watching Deven having a great time.
