Feeling Better

So, Little Man is feeling a bit more like his usual self and insisted that I take his picture today. He has a wonderful sense of humor and is a big camera ham. I just loved how the shirt worked into the whole theme.

So, who was the big wig?

Ok, so Friday's base paper was published. I was happy to get my copy because I wanted to see what all the hustle and bustle and secret service agents was all about at the hospital last Monday. Well, our big wig visitor was Senator Hillary Clinton and two other Senators. We got to see her motorcade, as we were driving on base, after leaving the hospital. I am so glad that we got out of there before she arrived. Can you imagine the zoo that it turned into when she got there? As it was, they had the German police, military and American military shutting down all the roads and holding traffic so that they could go to the hospital with no problems. It must be interesting to have to have such measures taken all the time, just so you can go places. I certainly can't imagine that kind of life!

Surprise Gift for little man

So, kids don't seem to know it is a weekend, let alone a holiday, when they decide to get sick. All of mine alway get/got sick on Friday, at about 8:30 at night....too late to go to a regular Dr. appt. So, you try to limp through the weekend, as going to the emergency room is always such a fun experience... not. Well, on long holiday weekends, it just doesn't always pan out. So we spent from 7:30 until almost noon in the emergency room with Little Man. He has another ear infection. The Dr. couldn't see all the way in the ear, as he is having discharge from his ears, so to be on the safe side, he is treating him for ear canal and perforated ear drums. Yeah. But, the up side of the whole trip was a very nice man, who was chatting with us and trying to cheer him up and gave him this nice, new, shiny lapel pin. He was a Secret Service Agent. Pretty cool, huh?

So, what do you do all day when your son is home with another ear infection? You knit him funny socks!

My first skein of silk!

I just wanted to put up a picture of my first skein of handspun, Navajo plyed, Tussah silk. Turned out pretty good for my first try with this fiber. It is a dream to work with!

All is quiet here.

As usual, I have too many projects on the back burner, most of them started and at some point near the middle. Seems that I can't keep my mind on only one thing at a time. I have, however, just finished the basic knitting of a sweater for my dog. I have felted the body, a bit, to help with repelling water and for warmth, but the legs are just knit with no felting. When it is dry, I am going to sew it together, add ribbing and put it on him. Poor boy has thought he was being so abused during the knitting process, as I put it on him and took it off numerous times. It is hard to knit for your baby when he is not the same size as other dogs.....taller, longer and fatter than the breed standard, and with having no fur, he needs leg covers added. Most dogs don't have that problem. I will post pics when it is finished.

Ok... back to another project I am making, but can only work on during the day when Reggie is at work..... It's for him and I don't want him to see it yet!
